August 20, 2025 – Birds in the Trees

Wednesday the moon is our only planetary body making moves as it shifts from Cancer to Leo at 7:17PM. We are leaving behind the watery feminine for the fiery masculine. Leo is associated with lightening up and having some fun. Over the next couple days, it will be easier to be childlike and creative. It is a period for enjoying life and saving the chores for another moon placement. Today is also the second day of the balsamic phase characterized as old age; forgiving, releasing and dreaming. This is an inward period which can lead to important insight about how you would like to make improvements through the next moon phases. The good part is this is just a part of our bodies expiring that already needed to be released.

The Sun and Earth give us insight about where our identity will be pulled and how to stay grounded. The Sun is discharging, “many little birds on the limb of a large tree,” and the Earth, “a tree felled and sawed to ensure a supply of wood for the winter.” The little birds are pulling our identity above the petty. We may see things from a new perspective today from talking with others. This may be especially useful with confusing situations going on. We want to ask others for their input vs only focusing on the needs of one individual. The caution is against letting too many cooks in the kitchen. We should also avoid tempting gossip or stories to get attention. We can stay grounded by doing what needs to be done on a practical level. Common sense will show us how to create what we need from things we don’t need. We want to plan ahead today and don’t be too shortsighted about resources by wasting something important; keep in mind, these aren’t always physical, it can be time, empathy or general patience for others.
